The Ayiti Resurrect organizing team has been hard at work planning a fundraiser for our healing project and work in Ayiti. We also have a number of updates to share. As we state clearly in our mission – this work is community-on-the-ground and Haitian led – and so we have made some changes to our plan as a result of what our partners on the ground want and what is feasible given the recent cholera epidemic and hurricane. We are still planning for Spring 2011 – one in January & one in March! Please continue to check our site for updates / changes that will be posted soon. And it is now more than ever that we must do what we can to continue to raise our consciousness about AYITI!!! SO PLEASE SUPPORT OUR FUNDRAISER – either by participating/attending OR if you can’t make it / or are not in the NYC area: help us spread the word and/or consider making an offering through our wepay group page: https://www.wepay.com/group/view/15171

HAITI IN:SIGHT – A Soulful Benefit for Healing in Haiti
December 11, 2010 || 7:00pm – 1:00am
Red Bull Space, 40 Thompson Street (at Watts St.) SoHo, New York
OPEN BAR All Night
*** As the one-year anniversary of the earthquake approaches, let’s continue to raise our awareness and keep HAITI IN SIGHT! This benefit will raise money for a grassroots healing project led by the people of Haiti and supported by a community of delegates from the Caribbean and African Diaspora. *** Join us for an enlightening evening of performances, dancing, and multi-media art — all providing a lens through which the beauty and power of Haiti will be experienced and honored. We will take the opportunity to learn more about the aftermath of this unnatural disaster from our partners on the ground. And we will contribute to the healing and sustainability of Haiti. ***
